THINK ABOUT IT!

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s pleasing and perfect will really is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

DEVOTIONAL

Why do we fight change so much?  It’s as if the basics of life are too complicated for us to handle.  Nothing good happens when there’s no forward movement in our lives.

Think about it- water that stands still doesn’t have enough oxygen in it, develops bacteria and smells.  In fact, standing water can do harm to people and animals.

When we convince ourselves that we can simply float on our past accomplishments, retire from work and life, decide not to show up and use the talents we were given, or lose interest in getting to know who we are and how we’re made, the very oxygen, or life sustaining parts of us, begins to diminish and we become dangerous to ourselves and others without even knowing it.

It’s time to change our minds about the way we think about God, and ourselves, treat ourselves, and do life.  There’s more to life than we’ve seen to this point and there’s more to us than we’ve ever known.  We’ve got what it takes to move our thoughts and actions to the next level.  How’s that?  Because the Holy Spirit says so.

What we think about our God and ourselves matters.  What we believe about how He does what He does  controls more of our actions than we realize.  Now is the time to line up our thinking with His truth…

We were made for more.  We can grow and change (at ANY age!) and truly learn what it means to live our best lives in and for Christ.

So, today:

Be cooperative.  God’s trying to tell you and show yoiu something.  Be open to His leadings.

Be inquisitive.  Try something new (or renewed) that you’ve been thinking about.

Be aware.  Get to know more of God and more of yourself.  You might be surprised about what you discover.

Be an example.  Other people need to see you act so they gain the courage to imitate your model.

Think about it, pray about it, and then do it.  He’s got you!

PRAYER

Prayer

Lord, Thank you for the instruction you give us to transform and renew our minds.  We’ve been influenced by our fears.  We’ve become stuck in our issues and routines and have forgotten to search for your fresh perspective.  Teach us more about you and more about ourselves today.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Live well,
Michele
