We Agree

Isaiah 62:2 (NLT)

The nations will see your righteousness.  Kings will be blinded by your glory.  And the Lord will give you a new name.

DEVOTIONAL

When God changes a thing, it’s changed.  When He endorses, blesses, and transforms, it is as He says it is.  Yet we often struggle to agree with Him.

We can be who God says we are.  He says that we are not deficient, impoverished, oppressed or unloved.  He has worked in our hearts, changed our condition and given us a new name.  We are gifted (1 Peter 4:10-11), able (Ephesians 2:10), and beautiful (Psalm 139:13).  We are forgiven (1 John 1:9), royal, known, and special.  And, until our hearts and minds finally agree with Him, we can choose to take His Word for it.

Our condition need not define us.  We either languish in desolate places or latch on when He calls us from His own lips, with His own voice, for our own good.  We can persevere through trials with the assurance that the experiences we have now will transform the way we think, feel and act.  We will, somehow, appreciate our hardships and find meaning in long days. And our testimony will draw the unreachable, the unkind, and the disinterested.

We can change.  God has this unmatched ability to make all things new (Colossians 3:10).  We are because He says we are and we can because He says we can.    We can change the way we live, accomplish more than we’d imagined, and respond to the needs of people who have overlooked us.  In so doing, we participate in changing the script of our own story.

When we agree with Our Father, we tell Him that we trust His Sovereignty, believe His plan, look forward to His actions, and accept that we are children of the Living God.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to see ourselves the way You see us and agree with who You say we are.  We want to trust your process in our lives today.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Live well,
Michele

    Good morning Chele,
Thank you for this timely reminder today. Yes! Let me see myself the way God sees me and believe and agree with Him…knowing that I am chosen, redeemed, loved, and forgiven. Lord, Enable me to trust Your process in my life today and always. Amen.
