WITH MY OWN EYES

Deuteronomy 11:7 (NLT)

But you have seen the Lord’s mighty deeds with your own eyes.

DEVOTIONAL

The children of Israel needed a reminder.  Moses admonished the people to respect, follow, love and obey God with their lives.  They were the generation that did not need to hear others’ accounts of God’s acts.  They could say without any doubt, “I’ve seen God work with my own eyes”.  However, despite having first-hand knowledge of God’s faithfulness, the people suffered from repeated bouts of amnesia.

We have history with the Lord.  We have not provided ourselves with gifts, talents, means, or opportunities.  He’s been present, consistent, and always on task.  God is the Author of His intentions toward us and is deserving of our attention and faithfulness.

Now is the time to remember what He has done.  No one else should recall the events of our lives with greater clarity, wonder or gratitude than we ourselves.  We have seen Him work with our own eyes.  We can remember that last month, He was good.  Yesterday, He was good.  This morning, He’s still good.

It’s news that’s worth sharing and it gives us boundless hope that He will continue to be no less than He has been.  We know, without any doubt, that God is good!

PRAYER

Thank you , Lord for being present in every circumstance.  Today, we are grateful that we are never without your consistent presence and help.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Live well,
Michele

  1. Amen! Lord I know you are walking with me every step of the way. Help me to always acknowledge that you said in your word you will never leave or forsake me. I admit I’m not always being diligent in my studying of your word. You have proven over and over your faithfulness and love for me. Help me to be bold about you and your love for your people. We need you.

    1. It’s so important for us to walk in the Spirit so that when HIS miracles occur, and we see them with our own eyes, we will recognize them no matter how small or great, and we can continue to attest to and testify about HIS goodness, grace, and mercy.✝️
