Yet!

Habakkuk 3:18-19 (NLT)

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord!  I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.  The Sovereign Lord is my strength!  He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains.

DEVOTIONAL

Our lives are filled with joys and pain, situations, pressures, obstacles and opportunities.  We pray, anticipate, juggle, and wait for change.  We would prefer that some things were different, but when our souls say, “Yet!” we remember that we are not in control of our circumstances and we’re not doing life alone.

God has foresight and sees and knows all things.  His knowledge is our comfort and encouragement. He’s very able to orchestrate all of our events.  In fact, He’ll bless us in ways we haven’t even prayed for just because He loves us, knows us, and knows what we need.  We can lift our eyes to our Sovereign Lord and He will lift our countenance and minister to our hearts.

“Yet” is a declaration of our faith.  Despite all that we deal with, and the plans that have not yet been realized, we can trust in Him.

God gets great pleasure out of our praise.  We can praise Him in the midst of our difficulty.  When we say “Yet!”, we tell ourselves and everybody else that He’s a God who can be trusted and we can choose to demonstrate our faith in Him.

Faith in God prepares us for anything. We can reflect on all that He has done, and how present and consistent He has been, and be encouraged.  We can raise our pointer fingers in the air and sharply say aloud, “Yet!” with passion and purpose because He is with us.

“Yet will I praise Him!”(Job 13:15) declares that no matter what we go through we have confidence in the God who’s got our back.  We can find reasons to thank Him for the trouble we’re in.  He will bring us through.  Our future is secure because He is our God.

PRAYER

Lord,

Thank you for never leaving us or forsaking us.  We can trust you and experience your presence and strength as we go through all of our life experiences.  Our circumstances won’t get the best of us because we have the strength only You can give.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Live well,
Michele

  1. Amen Chele! Yet! I’m so thankful that our Lord’s timing is perfect. He makes provision for us in ways we cannot even imagine, whether we are in our deepest valley or when things are going well… We can absolutely trust Him!

Never thought about the power behind the word yet. I do hold to the belief that God continues to bless at all times and yet I will continue to pray and trust His continued hedge of protection over His people. Thanks for the message Teacher ♥️

  3. Yet… God is in control and have my back dealing with my health challenges during this time. With my new health challenges my faith has increase even more. Without faith it is impossible to please God. I pray I see my health challenges as blessing to witness to others that Jesus loves them so much and wants a relationship with them. He paid the price on the cross for our sins. Help me to be more bold for Christ.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
